Frequently Asked Questions

What does CPENT manufacture?

AC power cords with national plugs for 15+ countries, IEC 60320 connectors and cord sets, waterproof connectors for solar micro-inverters and energy storage, network and signal cables, and custom wire harnesses.

Where are CPENT's factories?

Headquarters, engineering and moulding are in Shenzhen. A second plant of more than 10,000 m² in Wuzhou, Guangxi, opened in 2022 with cable extrusion, moulding, automatic crimping and complete assembly lines.

Do you make your own cable?

Yes. The Wuzhou plant has its own extrusion lines, so we control conductor and insulation quality for our cords rather than relying only on bought-in cable.

What is your production capacity?

More than 8 million cords per year, with a defect rate below 0.02% on our quality records.

Which approvals do your products carry?

Depending on the model: CCC (China), ETL (USA), VDE and KEMA-KEUR (Europe), KEMA-KEUR and DEKRA for BS 1363 plugs, PSE (Japan), KC (Korea), TÜV (Q28 connector), SAA and CB (cables), the Singapore Safety Mark and CE to EN 61984. Approvals are issued per model and per country, so tell us your destination market and we will send the matching certificate.

Do you offer OEM and ODM?

Yes. We build cords and harnesses to your drawing or sample: cable type, length, colour, terminals, labels, moulded logo and packaging.

What is your minimum order quantity?

MOQ depends on the product and on whether a new mould or approval is needed. Send the model and target quantity through the quote form and we will reply with MOQ, price and lead time.

Can I get samples?

Yes. Send the model and shipping address; sample terms are confirmed per project.

What quality checks do you run?

Incoming inspection, first-article inspection, in-process (IPQC) and outgoing (OQC) inspection, crimp pull-force testing whenever material, tooling, operator or batch changes, 100% continuity and high-voltage testing, and a lab with FLUKE testers, a power cord comprehensive tester, a 2D image measuring instrument and ageing and temperature-rise equipment.

What is the difference between H03VV-F and H05VV-F?

Both are flexible PVC-insulated, PVC-sheathed harmonised cords. H03VV-F is rated 300/300 V (light duty) and H05VV-F is rated 300/500 V (ordinary duty, thicker insulation). See our cable code guide for details.

What is the difference between IEC C13 and C19?

C13 is rated 10 A and is used on computers and monitors. C19 is rated 16 A and is used on servers, UPS and network equipment. The matching inlets are C14 and C20.

Which connector should I use for a micro-inverter?

For 12 A micro-inverter AC cables, the pre-moulded C20. For up to 25 A, the C28 (pre-moulded), M25 (with panel socket) or Q28 (installer-assembled). Our micro-inverter connector guide compares them.
